Ralph Moore Celebrates his 99th Birthday

On Saturday January 14, 2006 Ralph Moore celebrated his 99th birthday with his family. A few days before employees of Sequoia Nursery and friends gathered for lunch at the nursery to celebrate. Mr. Moore received many birthday cards and e-mail messages from rose breeders, friends and members throughout the NCNH District and the American Rose Society. Mr Moore was asked "How do you get to be 100?" Mr. Moore said with a smile, "You wait until you're 99, then you be very careful."

At the September meeting of the San Joaquin Valley Rose Society, members helped Ralph Moore celebrate his 100 birthday-a little early. Mr. Moore will "officially" be 100 on January 14, 2007, but anyone who reaches this milestone deserves more than one party!!
