The Presentation of the WFRS Gold Medal

On Saturday, January 13, 2007, the first honors began for Ralph Moore's 100th birthday celebration. At the nursery where he hybridizes and sells his roses a special presentation was made.
The World Federation of Rose Societies is made up of rose societies representing 37 countries throughout the world. It's current President, Dr. Gerald Meylan of Switzerland sent a letter and a WFRS Commemorative Gold Medal honoring Mr. Moore on his 100th birthday. The letter and gold medal were presented by Dr. Tommy Cairns, immediate past president of the WFRS. Mr. Moore had received the WFRS Gold Medal in 1988 for his cotributions to the development of miniature roses. The commemorative medal is recognition from the entire rose world.

The inscription reads, "Presented to Ralph Moore on the occasion of his 100th birthday, January 14, 2007".

Congratulations Mr. Moore!!

Raplh Moore and Dr. Tommy Cairns are the only two living Americans to have received the Dean Hole Medal. This was the first opportunity for them to be togehter at the same event.
