
The San Joaquin Valley Rose Society will will taking a trip to see the Sacramento Historic Cemetery Rose Garden, the International World Peace Garden at the State Capitol Park and "Old Town".
When: Saturday, April 17, 2010
Time: We will leave Fresno at 7:00 A.M. and leave Sacrmaneto at 5:00 P.M. to return to Fresno
The Sacramento Historice Rose Garden will be in full bloom for the Annual Open Garden. Besides the beautiful roses in the cemetery, you will also be able to visit the perennial and California native plant gardens. There will be historic roses and rose-related merchandise for sale.
After visiting the Cemetery we will go to the State Capitol Park and visit the "International World Peace Rose Garden". This is one of five rose gardens established in the world to advance peace and understanding amongst all the nations, cultures and religions of the world through the creation of rose gardens that become centers for community actrivities. The theme of the Sacramento Garden is Peace for Women, Children and Families. The garden was established in 2003 and contains about 650 roses.
We will conclude our visit to Sacramento by visiting "Old Town" where you can enjoy something to eat and shop in the unique shops of the area.
